Sam Abrahams
Sam Abrahams has been a practising lawyer for over 40 years.
He has been a principal as a sole practitioner and in several partnerships including head of commercial litigation in a mid-tier firm, and in the course of his career has managed many proceedings in Victorian and Federal courts. He consistently achieves excellent results for clients, both at trial and in achieving settlements in dispute resolution at mediation prior to trial.
Sam’s specialties include property, estate planning, commercial litigation, trusts, wills disputes and probate.
Sam’s commercial expertise has come from extensive involvement in business over the course of his career, enabling him to understand the needs of his commercial clients. He has acted for clients in mergers and acquisitions, both with private equity firms and ASX listed entities. He has facilitated both sales and purchases of shopping centres, successfully prosecuted against a major corporation and has acted for several well-known Australian recording artists.
As well as practising law, Sam has also been the owner and managing director of a large, multi-outlet travel agency business and was responsible for the operation of a significant hotel under a power of attorney. Sam has sat on the boards of fashion and custom home building companies, served as business consultant to a long-established medical products company, and for many years was chairman of a large commercial real estate agency.
